MODEL CAR GROUP PROJECT

As a part of my Computer Aided Design and Fabrication class, groups of students were tasked with modeling and fabricating the necessary parts to assemble a model car and use it to compete with other groups' cars by completing several competency tests.

I fabricated the acrylic chassis of the car using a laser cutter, and my car body design was chosen from our group's designs to be 3D printed and used on the final model car. I was also the team leader for this project, and ensured that my team did what they needed to do to successfully complete the car.

As a group, we successfully fabricated the necessary components and assembled the car to spec. During the group competition portion of the project, our car successfully completed each test and won our lab section’s “Distance Travelled” competency test by travelling 13 feet on a single pullback of the car's LEGO pullback motor.
