BRYCE'S LEMONADE STAND

In order to teach me the value of time and money when I was younger, my parents encouraged me to put up a lemonade stand in my neighborhood and to sell as much lemonade as I could.

The first time I went out to sell lemonade I used a folding table and a tablecloth, but I found it to be too much work to transport and set up. To solve this problem, my dad, our neighbor, and I designed a wooden lemonade stand that we built in order to more conveniently carry everything in one trip.

Over the course of a few summers and several holiday weekends selling fresh lemonade, tea, Arnold Palmers, water, and holiday themed cupcakes, cookies, and brownies, I managed to net approximately $1,200. This was enough for me to split the cost of a 6th Grade People-to-People Trip to Western Canada with my parents, and also donate some money to the Yosemite Conservancy.
